Florence's 1930s tobacco factory regenerated into a mixed-use district with homes, workspace, a hotel and public squares, a short walk from the Cascine park.
Manifattura Tabacchi is the conversion of the former state tobacco factory in Florence, a rationalist complex from the 1930s, into a new quarter of the city. The masterplan by Q-bic and Concrete mixes residential buildings (Zenit, Anilla, Puro and Futura), offices, a design school, a hotel, shops and restaurants around restored industrial courtyards. The site sits on Via delle Cascine, beside the Cascine park and the Arno, about 2.5 km from the Duomo.
